Refined Felt + Elegant Form

Rebuild the foundations of sculptural felt so you can create two elegant, sophisticated vessel forms—while learning the essential sculpting techniques that unlock countless variations.

Why beautiful vessel shapes can feel out of reach…

(Does any of this sound familiar?)

  • You can only make a few basic shapes, and they start to feel repetitive

  • When you try to push the form further, the vessel loses structure or collapses

  • Your surfaces don’t look as smooth or refined as you want

  • The shape is not flowing, the silhuette looks a bit crude instead of elegant and intentional

  • Deep down, you want your work to feel more artistic, sophisticated, and original, not “just another felted vessel”

The good news: you don’t need more complicated techniques.

When you want refined, sculptural vessels, the breakthrough usually comes from something simpler: rebuilding the foundations, so your felt becomes a responsive sculpting medium. Because if the felt doesn’t have the right behaviour, no amount of “extra detail” will create elegant form.

The Foundations of Sculptural Felting

Sculptural felt needs a very specific foundation. To create vessels that feel refined and hold their shape, your felt needs three core qualities: Density + Resilience + Elasticity. In this challenge, you’ll learn how to create those three qualities on purpose—through a simple, repeatable framework I call the Responsive Sculpting Method.

Introducing: The Responsive Sculpting Method

This challenge is built around three essentials that make refined, sophisticated vessel shapes possible, without fighting the material. You will learn how to:

  • Construct felt for sculptural form

You’ll learn to build felt on purpose, not simply lay out wool, combining fibre superpowers so your felt has the three qualities sculptural work demands: density + resilience + elasticity.

  • Sculpt By Fulling

You’ll learn how refinement happens during fulling, using fulling sequences to transform wool into a dense, smooth sculpting material and to refine the form as it emerges.

  • The Way of Least Resistance

You’ll learn to read the felt as it changes and adapt your technique in real time, so you work with the material rather than forcing a rigid plan onto it. This is where confidence grows, because you start understanding what to do next.

The Bloom‑Mouth Vessel

A bold, expressive opening that teaches sculpting, control, and refinement at the rim.

The Long‑Neck Vessel

A form that teaches proportion, stability, and elegant transitions.

How the course works

The Late-Summer Vessel Shaping Challenge is designed to fit into real life, so you can learn deeply, at your own pace, even if you can’t join the live sessions.

  • You'll get access to pre-recorded, step-by-step lessons you can follow at your own pace. They’re precise and practical, so you can pause, repeat, and refine as your hands learn.

  • Downloadable, printable resources you can keep right by your side as you work.

  • Live teaching + feedback (with replays). We’ll meet for 3 live calls over 4 weeks for teaching, shaping guidance, and feedback. Every call is recorded, and you’ll have replay access for 6 months—so you can revisit the training whenever you need it.

  • You’ll have six months access to the full program materials, so you can work through the course at your own pace or return to it as your practice evolves.

Live Sessions + Replays (come live or watch later)

All live sessions are recorded. If you can’t make it live (summer schedules happen), you can watch the replay and continue at your own pace.

  • Welcome + Introduction

    27 August 6:00 PM CEST

In this opening live session, we’ll reconnect as a group and set you up for a smooth start. I’ll walk you through the course structure, materials, and the key mindset behind the Responsive Sculpting Method.

  • Template Making Workshop

    8 September 6:00 PM CEST

You’ll learn how to make templates for your vessel shapes. I’ll show you the method I use to translate a 3D form into a working template, so you can repeat (and vary) your shapes with confidence.

  • Shape Clinic: Feedbaclk and Q&A

    22 September 6:00 PM CEST

You’ll bring your vessel (or your work-in-progress), and I’ll help you troubleshoot the things that make the biggest difference in the final result.

Shape beyond the ordinary!
